Short Term.

In the event of ill health, your employer will provide you up to 6 months full salary and a further 6months 1/2 salary. This is dependent on your years of service, with the maximum being provided after 4 years service.

Long Term.

After your ill health benefit ceases with your employer, you may be then be eligible for a long term pension based on the severity of your illness from the Teachers pension scheme. This again, is based on your years of service plus possible enhancement.

These benefits can be enhanced by income replacement cover, commonly called PHI (Permanent Health Insurance), which would increase your monthly income and maintain your standards of living.
